Storm Damage can be unexpected, and even our current technology cannot predict the severity of Storms- or even foresee them at all. At Chadwick Residential, it is our mission to help those in need of emergency repairs, and assist with the insurance claim process- as to alleviate the stress that comes with any insurance claim, and expedite a return to normalcy.
The date of the storm would be considered your "Date-of-Loss" or DOL. In most cases, you have one (1) calendar year to file a home claim from the date of the storm. Should you file within that year, but after the initial storm, the date of inspection by a qualified roofing contractor is considered your Date-of-Discovery, or DOD.
It is very important to have a roofing contractor inspect your roof before filing a claim to not only determine if the damage qualifies for a claim to be filed, but also to check the storm dates in your area to determine if the claim has a recent DOL. This is the most common reason for insurance claim denials: Filing a claim without cause (Recent DOL).
When a storm rolls through, Call Chadwick Residential for Insurance Claim guidance & Emergency Repairs to prevent further damage from occurring.
It is imperative to check your policy for a better understanding of your coverage and deductible(s).
When a homeowner files an insurance claim for property damage, the insurance company assigns a dedicated adjuster to evaluate the situation. The adjuster’s first step is typically to schedule an initial inspection of the property to assess the extent of the damage and determine the scope of the claim. At this inspection, a representative from Chadwick Residential will be present to walk through the property alongside the adjuster, providing detailed input and ensuring that all impacted areas and items are properly documented.
This representative will also attend any follow-up inspections that may be scheduled, maintaining a consistent presence throughout the evaluation process. By being actively involved from the outset and meticulously reviewing all damages, Chadwick Residential aims to eliminate the need for the time-consuming supplement process, allowing all issues to be addressed upfront and helping the homeowner achieve a smoother, more efficient claims experience.

Let's say a Hurricane blows through, and your deductible is 2% of your home's value - that deductible will be deducted from the total claim payout. It is Texas Law to pay your deductible in full, and fulfill the claim as outlined by the Insurance Provider in their line-by-line, dollar-for-dollar estimate.
If there are discrepancies between the paperwork and the damage/scope of work associated with the claim at hand, Chadwick Residential handles all supplement communications to the insurance, with a merit-based system. We don't gouge, and we don't undercut.
For Storm Damage Claims, once all items are accounted for, the insurance provider names the price. In order to qualify for depreciation (RCV), you must fulfill the claim items as specified. It is commonly known, however, that the insurance companies typically pay more than a standard retail bid; they pay for safety items that we don't charge for. This makes room for upgrades!
At Chadwick Residential, we make sure you get the best bang for your buck. When other companies throw on a cheap system and pocket the difference, we build in high-quality materials and warranties to get the most out of your claim. This way, you get a top-of-the-line system at the price of just your deductible!
We offer FREE Consultations and Estimates, along with the best Value in the Houston area.
No. Under absolutely no circumstances will Chadwick Residential cover your Deductible. It is Texas law to pay your deductible, in full, and fulfill the claim as outlined by your insurance provider. We can, however, build in more value and address other scopes of work within the full claim amount.
You should absolutely file- for two reasons.
1.) ACV does not mean $0. If you have verifiable storm damage, and have gone over your policy coverage to verify it is covered, you will still get some funds to help repair. It is common for the insurance to estimate the covered items below the deductible, though. Chadwick Residential has Best-in-Class Public Adjuster and Appraisal contacts to help resolve any such instances.
2.) Your roof may be damaged, but what about everything else? To put it plainly, we would much rather bill the insurance company than the homeowner if extra damage is discovered. If we initiate repairs before filing, it makes any reimbursement very difficult.
For example, a storm rolls through, you have a roof leak- but when repairing the wet drywall, we find black mold. It then turns into a massive cleanup or even condemning a structure. We would much rather bill them than you, should extra items pop up.
Either way you choose, we strongly recommend requesting a certified copy of your policy, and reviewing it in its entirety.
Maybe! In many cases, the insurance claim total is much higher than our standard retail pricing. In order to bridge the gap, but still fulfilling the claim as to qualify for depreciation (RCV), we can build in upgrades like extra gutters or insulation. Qualification is determined on a case-by-case basis, and has to make sense for both parties- but we are happy to entertain this!
